Today was my first day back to work. I was missing Himani but i looooved sleeping in. I never got up before 930. and 930 feels like sleeping in so it was nice. Christmas was OK. Nothing special. Josh got me my own sewing machine. So we will see what I can make with it. And oddly enough my favorite gift from my parents was an electric tooth brush. We didn't get to go to Josh's family because of the weather. But we stayed the night at my parents Xmas eve and stayed all Xmas day there. We stayed in for a big part of the weekend. We watched it snow saturday and then we walked across the street to Josh's cousins and they played video games. Josh has 3 cousins that live in the same apartments we do. We hardly have any walk to any of them. So thats nice. Sunday my sister and I went and saw the nutcracker. It was her xmas present from me. I wasnt to whoopie about it but she really wanted to go.

Himani got a bunch of new toys. Which means new toys for me to play with! ha. We played on her aqua doodle pad for hours today. Josh picked out some of the Xmas presents for Himani. He picked out Elmo tickle me hands and the hulk hands. Poor thing is scared of them. Both. Ill have to work with her on those. Josh feels bad. Lets see what did she get. She got a medical kit. Which she is scared of the blood pressure cuff. She seems to be afraid of lots of things right now. Its cute when she tells you shes scared. She doesn't say it but she makes a frighten face and shakes and then makes a sad face and goes in for a hug. She got a tea pot set that she likes to poor people a cup of tea. She got several new books, new stuffed toys. She has a bird and shes scared of that. Also an art easel.

I got a Flip Video for xmas from the Mulbery's for xmas. Which is awesome and I have video of Himani and Addison on it. ill just have to hook it up to my computer and see if that is any easier for me to upload videos. I guess I had plenty of time to do that while I was off but time goes by fast when your lazy. Heres some picture from my xmas

How are they ever going to break her of that( which she does allllllll the time) if her dad at age 25 still sucks his thumb!

Himani and I went back to Monkey Business today. We had alot more fun today. There was tons of more kids there today as well. Few of them were there when we were there Wednesday. I bet they are making tons of money. They need to come up with a membership deal!

Its crazy how much kids influence each other. Himani and I were playing with a ball. A girl runs by us with the ball in her mouth shaking her head back and forth. She was headed to the moon bounce. Well HImani looked at her for a second and decided she wanted to do the same. She didn't get to far before I got the ball out of her mouth. SHe still ran to the moon bounce though and turned around when she realized where she was climbing into. She is becoming more adventurous. But still won't go in the moon bounce.

Later she saw a kid climb through a window of a really cool play set. It has fossils all over it and 2 slides. Well the boy decided to go through the window instead of using the stairs that was right next too it. I guess I didn't notice the boy doing that and I saw Himani going through and I helped her so she didnt fall on her face. I said Girl where did you get that idea. The boys mom was like She saw my son do it.

After running around for a few hours she only slept maybe an hour.

baby himani meets baby addi

We went to Wonderscope again today. We won't be able to go again until after christmas. This time my mom met up with us and brought Addi to meet Himani. You can tell in the picture Addi was all smiles. They really enjoyed each other. Himani liked having a baby around her. Himani didn't care if I held Addison but When my mom held Addi, she got jealous and wanted my mom to hold her too It was kinda funny b/c my mom has only seen Himani one other time and it was back in March or so. I think kids can sense when other people are mothers. Before addi and my mom got there we were playing in the Market area. She figured out how to play with the pizzas and birthday cakes. She put the toppings on them. Threw them in the oven messed with the knobs on the oven and then brought it to me to eat. Also i dont know what Himani's fascination is with cleaning. But every room we go into there she goes for the mops and brooms and try to clean ha.
Himani did sooo good with the kids today. When we were in the 'Small Wonders" room she was going around giving all the kids hugs. She was walking up to hug one little girl and the girl started crying. Himani looked at me and my mom like what did i do wrong. Why is she crying. But the girls mom said she was just tired. Then later Himani tried again and she cried once again. Ha.
When we got home she ate alot or at lease alot more than she has been. We had enough time to read some library books and then she didnt even cry when i put her down. And she took a 3 hour nap. Hmm 3 hour would of been nice of me to work on all the christmas scarfs I gotta make but I got sucked into facebook and TV.
After nap she tried to hide under the chair and play peek a boo with me but she didnt fit to well ha. it was still cute
Over all it was a really good day with Himani. Once again she still hasn't said my name but i think shes making a break through. Shes been asking me more than usually what my name is and who I am.
I have a video of HImani saying HO HO HO. It sounds more like Tim Taylor (Tim Allen) from Home Improvement when he makes his "I told you so" howl. I dont know I guess you have to be a home improvement fan to know what Im talking about.

^ this is in the medical room. She loves playing with the babies. I taught her what all the medical toys were for and how to use them. Maybe she will take after her mama. I thought about getting her a medical toy bag but the ones they have now a days just isnt as cool as the set I had when i was a little kid.

Himani and I are trying to keep busy. She gets too cranky if we stay in the apt all day long. Tuesday we went to Wonderscope. There was a field trip of 4th graders there. Sometimes she felt intimidated because they would just crowd around her while she was trying to play. Other times she really wanted to try and join them. We were messing with a train set in the hallway and a group of kids start running down the hall. And she decided to join them and got all mixed up with them. It was funny and cute. Her favorite room with all the balls was closed off to the kids in the filed trip. They were suppose to be done by 1130 but weren't.

Today we tried Monkey Business. It has its pros and cons. Pros was it kept Himani very busy. She didnt want to leave. Cons they say you can't bring in outside food and there are signs that say not responsible for lost or stolen items. Well they have no place to put your stuff besides in the eating area. O well Im sure no one will take anything. Himani wasnt so crazy about the bouncy things. She is just learning to jump up and down herself she didnt like the extra help. I really hope with us going out to these places she will learn to play with kids better. Any time a kid gets to close to her she screams NOOOOO or anytime a kid plays with something she has played with before she runs up to them and tell them no. I reassure her that other kids can play with everything too. We only had to sit aside once. She wanted to go down a slide and a kid was taking to long so she kicked the kid. I have no clue where she gets this anger and where she learned how to kick and hit. Today she hit me because she didnt get what she wanted. So i put her in her crib for 2 minutes to let her know i mean business and you can't do that. I use to just sit her in a chair but she would just get right up. I just gotta keep at it everytime she does it.

I think Himani says Cool now. Not totally sure. But today she saw monkeys painted everywhere and she pointed and said " Whoa Cool Whats that?" ha Not sure were she picked up cool. Also I am trying so hard to get her to say my name. She wont even try =( i hope she says it soon. Ill be happy. When I say wheres stephy she points to me but when i ask whats my name she says that.

Once again I cant get the videos on here. I got a Youtube account still messing with it. Josh will have to help me. Once i figure it out ill have like 15+ videos.

Himani figured out how to unlock my iphone, scroll through my pictures and play the videos. So I only allow her to look at my pictures once a day. I believe she said Lenny today. My guinea pig's name. This is when she wanted to look at my pictures. Of course she would learn my guinea pigs name before mine!

hyper hyper hyper!

I watched the twins last week and boy were they hyper. I really had never seen them this hyper before. They were running around the house acting like garbage collectors and tried to pick me up. but i said i didnt want to be in the trash. We went down stairs to kill some time before bath time. They are really good at playing by themselves now. I like to sit back and watch them b/c they say some funny things.

They decided they would be going to a costume party. Gabriel was stuck on what he wanted to be. Lindsay said. "Gabriel you can be anything you want to be. A princess, a police man, a Ferrari, a firefighter." I said hold up did you say a Ferrari? Do you know what that is. She said no I said skdhf;lsd;flkjsd. I dont know what she said. But I am pretty sure she said a Ferrari.

We listened to the monster mash a million times. It was in a card they found laying around. They would open it up and jump around in circles until they fell down. They'd yell out 'Hey Steph watch this. Steph watch this."

About 645 i knew it was time they needed to to start cleaning up so i told them "alright time to clean up." Lindsay throws herself on the floor and says nooo not now. I said yes now. She starts balling. Gabriel starts cleaning up Lindsay didnt stop crying until she finally got in the bathtub.

After allllll of that crying and alllll of that running around. We curled up in Gabriel's bed. We switch back in forth between their two rooms on where we read for the night. That night was Gabriel's and he practically fell asleep while we were reading. ONce we walked out of the he rolled over and was out. And lindsay was actually cuddling with me. She hasnt done that in probably a year or more. She use to when we read stories before i put them in their cribs. awwww thank you lindsay. I enjoyed it.

no pictures this time. over all even through L had a melt down it was a good night b/c I didnt get locked out of no where by them!

cheeeeee- ohh

So Himani is sleeping right now. Shes been down for 2 hours now. Which is a shock b/c she hasnt slept more than an hour and 1/2 this week. Watch Ill jinx it and she'll wake up. Oh well 2 hours is good. You can tell she was tired she was cranky from the moment i got her out of bed today.
Man I really need to figure out this video thing I have some really funny 1s of Himani.
Lets see whats new with her.

Well Himani feeds herself now. Its kind of nice. But she gets extra messy now. I still try to feed her her yogurt tho b/c if you don't most of it ends up in her bib or tray. The picture is of her with cheeeeeese all over her face.

Today I was really cold so we went into her room and shut the door so the space heater would get the room nice and toasty. I curled up in a blanket in front of the heater and himani went into her drawer got a towel came over and put it on my nose and made the sound of blowing your nose. i just laughed.

About 5 times a day she'll look at me and say bebe and then snort like a pig. that means she wants to look at my pictures on my phone. We look at my pictures about 2 or 3 times a day. I wish I could have a video of her watching the videos of herself. Its sooo cute she laughs at herself. I wonder if she realizes thats her? Not sure when they start to realize that. The reason she snorts like a pig is because she wants to see my guinea pig. I keep telling her guinea pigs squeal and sound more like eek eek instead of a snort like a real pig.

Everytime she sees my phone (most the time im trying to secretly video tape her) she says cheeeese. cause she thinks im trying to take a picture. sometimes thats true. But anyways. lately shes been saying cheeee- ohh cheeee-oh. not sure why she breaks off and says oh at the end. I have a few videos of that i should put on here.

another new thing. she can tell who is the mom and who is the dad in the books we read. she'll point and say mama. And also she knows which stocking is her dads and which 1 is her moms. She says nothing about her own. but she will point out which is which. And Im teaching her that santa says ho ho ho. Shes starting to get the hang of it.
Well She just woke up. time to play.

Aunts, like moms only cooler

I think I have a right to brag about my niece. Her name is Addison Shes supppper cute. She was born August 11th. She was a month early but you cant even tell. Josh and I love her. Josh wasnt so excited about holding her once she was born. But let me tell you. They are buddies. Hes the only one that can burp her everytime. I wasn't able to see in the hospital when she was born. I was really sick. Never found out what I had. I think I got sick from Gabriel and had Gingivostomaitis but urgent care said I had fifths disease. I had sores all in my mouth and a bad rash everywhere and my body hurt to the point I couldnt walk. Anyways I wouldnt of been able to see her and had to wait a week. It was tough. She def has changed in her looks. Her dad is black. And you can tell when she has wet hair. And her legs are darker than her upper body. Lucky girl shes gonna always have a nice tan! ha But I heres some pictures of her. I have more videos I have to upload from my phone.

Barbie hair, pillow cases and cups

So I watched Jordon today and then I went over to the twins house. Its never a dull moment over there. First thing they really wanted me to see was there xmas shirts. Then we made xmas ornaments While I was doing this I asked them what they asked or going to ask santa for xmas. At first they said nothing. Then I asked them again later. Lindsay said Barbie hair. Gabriel said new pillow cases and new cups. Hmmm... looks like santa doesnt have to go to to much trouble this year.
They pretended to give each other shots in bath time. Lindsay didnt want to stay in the tub for long and when i was drying her off i asked if she liked me. She finally said yes. ha
Then while I was getting her ready to brush her teeth my elbow hit her right in the nose. I said O my Im so sorry. Lindsay said. Dont say your sorry. I said why not. She said B/c your suppose to do whats right the first time. Not sure what she meant.

The picture was there idea. It took about 5 minutes to get it. B/c 1 would look up or 1 was wiggling so much ha.

Himani Kay

this is Himani. Oober cute isn't she? I have been watching her since Sept 25, 08. It is very hard to believe i have been taken care of her for so long. I guess its kinda like how parents say time goes by so fast and the kids grow up to fast. I remember the first day I watched her she was chunky and still needed to lean up against a pillow to sit up. By xmas she was doing an army crawl. and was walking before her first birthday. It took her a little bit longer to start talking and I am sure that had a little to do with me. I am not much of a talker and sometimes I have to remind myself I have to talk to her so she can learn to. I counted recently how many words she has, shes up to about 45 now. She use to say some things that she doesnt anymore. Her first few words was "Whats that." or "where'd it go." probably because those are things I said alot to her. I feel bad b/c I think if I am with her all day she should be able to do alot more by now. But I am trying harder to work with her more on things.

We try to go to the library once a week. She loves reading. She loves coloring and dancing. We listen to music all day long. My bf Josh thinks she is the cutest kid ever! Himani and I call him a couple times a week to wake him up since he works nights. He is trying to get her to say KU or Jayhawks. ha. Which isnt very nice since her dad went to MU.

We checked out Wonderscope Thursday. Great way to kill time. Hopefully we will go once a week so we can get out of the apartment. When the weathers nice we go to the park. She never wants to leave there. Pretty sure I got a concussion there last month. I walked right into a bar. Playgrounds arent meant for big people like me. And once in a while we will stop by PetsMart since its right down the street to look at all the animals.

She can definitely cheer me up when I need it. She is very funny and has a big personality. Just when I think she cant get any cuter she does.

Ill try to keep posted on things we do during the day, if she does something funny or cute. Ill have to figure out how to add photos in a slide show.

The Sinclair twins

Meet Lindsay and Gabriel

They are almost 4 now. The first night I watched them was New Years Eve 2007/8. Not sure what you consider it since the year changed that night. They were almost 2 at the time. They are amazingly smart! I am always blow away with this things they know! Gabriel once told me how thunder works. And what he said I am pretty sure the truth. ha. Like I said in my first post. I met the dad Christian randomly at my moms work. He over heard me talking about babysitting and asked me. And look where its gotten us! I recently found out I intimidated Kelly the mom the first time I met her. At the time I had black and red in my hair and a nose ring. I really liked my nose ring. I had to take it out for sinus surgery and then when i got it redone it fell out a week later. Guess it wasn't meant to be. I also kinda miss my colorful hair. But i rather spend my money on better things.

I have come to realize that Gabriel will tell you what you want to hear and Lindsay will tell you straight up. Ha.
I ask them if they like me or love me. Gabriel "Yes I love you Stephanie." Lindsay, "No." hahaha
OK guys I hope these cookies come out ok, I'm not the best cook. G: You are a good cook Stephanie. L: No your not very good.
We were swinging on their swing set. It started rocking so I stopped and said. I guess I am to fat for this swing set. G: Oh no stephanie Your not to fat. L: Yes you are. ha ooooo Lindsay.
I also got the biggest insult a 3 year old could give. L & G "Stephanie your like Guston. Ya your name is Guston." Me: Ooo like from Beauty and the Beast." L&G "Yup" Me: "Umm isnt he mean, are you calling me mean?" L&G "Yup, your Guston." o i had a good laugh on that one.

Also I think they are at that point where they are trying to get away with everything they can while the babysitter is there b/c I have been locked out of the basement by them TWICE! ha.

Oh well, they are still awesome kids. They always have something funny to say. I'm sure I have them a few times this month so if something funny comes up Ill be sure to get on here and post.

First of Many... Who is your babysitter?

Alright well like stated at the top of my site, I wanted to make a website so that the family of the kids I watch can see what we do while we are away. I made sure with everyone before hand if it was alright for me to write about there kids. Haven't confirmed with everyone just yet. But I'm getting there. I came up with this idea last year when I found out Himani's family had one. And yes it had taken a year for me to finally make this. It's not that I have a problem with putting things off. More like I don't want to do my homework or anything else I need to get done and figured this might be more productive than sleeping.

Hey I just thought, maybe this can get me more babysitting gigs!? ha

So lets go over my babysitting history. I didn't start until the summer after i graduated high school. That was May of 2007. I started watching for people my mom works with. It started off with Kylie and Kaden. Kaden was my first dirty diaper I had to change. It didnt go so well. Next came Tyler. He has a new baby sister as of yesterday! Congrats! Then I watched Ally. Adorable little girl she was about 7 months and a few months after she turned 1 I became her nanny for a short time. I really miss her but things just didn't work out. I only watched her a few months and I cried randomly for several months after missing her. She also has a new baby brother now. Around December of 2007 I randomly met Christian Sinclair while visiting with my moms best friend at work. He asked if I wanted to babysit on New Years. He has twins Lindsay and Gabriel. Because of them I got my nanny job I currently have now and another babysitting gig, Jordon. Thanks Guys I owe you a lot for that!

I met the Mulbery's summer of 2008. Himani was I believe 5 months then. I started watching her September of 2008 and still with them to this day. The time has gone by so fast! This is definitely the longest job I've ever had! I love Himani so much and it is going to be a VERY sad day when I have to leave them. But I will post a separate one talking more about her. Also because of them I have gotten a few other babysitting gigs!

But who am I? Here's some of the highlights

- I am in my third year of college! yikes! I still have a few more to go because I just decided to go into nursing. I am shooting for the program that starts October 2010. The deadline for turning the stuff in is January 31st. I won't know until April. And I am already nervous. I have always wanted to do something medical and something with kids. I am tired of going to school so I figured Id go for that. Hopefully I can get a job at Children's Mercy when I am all done. I love that place!
-I have one older sister and she just had a baby in August. Her name is Addison and I always say I am going to kidnap her. How nice huh? She's too cute!
- I just moved in with my boyfriend, Josh, of over 2 years. Right now he is off killing Zombies. (stupid video game) He is actually my brother-in-laws friend so I have known him for probably 6 years total. I love being on my own. I have always been one of having "my time" and I get that all the time now. I do miss living at home for several reasons. Home made dinners. I eat a lot of frozen pizzas now. Now I have to do the dishes everyday and buy everyday things! And I miss my parents of course. Especially since my dads been in and out of the hospital the last couple months! Get better dad!
-My biggest love besides my family is music. Favorite band is Blink 182 by far. Maybe its because I am OBSESSSSSSED with Travis Barker. I also like the Beatles ( Josh doesn't like them), Green Day, the Fray, Queen, Taking Back Sunday, Weezer, Muse, Elvis, and the list could go on forever.
- I started taking drum lessons 2 months ago. loooooove it. Sure wish i could get a set. Josh don't think they'd' be good for an apartment. But I could get electric ones so no 1 had to hear but me if that's the case. So who's gonna talk Josh into letting me have some?!
- I have a guinea pig, Lenny. Hes 1 now. Josh got him for me when I had surgery last November. Lenny is pretty awesome.
- i am addicted to peanut butter and love everything thats not good to eat. I also cant keep a work out routine longer than 2 weeks

Hmm... thats enough of that. I know its long. Hopefully this will be the longest 1 ever! Also sorry mom for the bad pic! its the only picture of me I have on my new computer!
